'Oh Noes! Another dressage lesson!"

Yes today I finally got back into dressage lessons with my poor dude Montana who had been happily munching in the pasture for several days since our trail ride Saturday.

We worked on transitions from seat and leg. Some time in the past, I was apparently abducted by aliens and they installed evil little bad riding machines in my hands. These alien machines kick into gear whenever I want them not to. They really screw around with my riding by causing my hands and wrists to malfunction/hyperfunction when they are supposed to be doing nothing, nothing at all. I am so sorry I fell victim to this alien abduction because otherwise I am sure I would be a great rider with tactful quiet hands. Life is such a bitch sometimes.

Montana enjoyed his grain treat plus supplements afterwards:

And Johnnie acted out a bit, because he really wanted to do something today and I did not have time:

But then he got quieter and just looked at me from afar with guilt-inducing stare:

Funny dudes. A storm was blowing in and it has been raining a cool gentle rain ever since. Nice!!

Thanks! I will probably have to have a Vulcan mind transfer to get those nasty aliens out of my hands. Stubborn, bad habits...

I'm sure the mother ship is on its way to take back their alien hands and then everything will be fine and you will have your pre-alien hands returned and be the perfect rider!
Montana looks like a good boy and I love the guilt stare from Johnnie.

I think I have a crush on Johnnie. That one is a looker. The kind of horse I would like to sit and have a beer with:-) Love the photos of the "frat" boys.

GreyHorse: I am scanning the horizon for the MotherShip now.

Photog: He is the best therapy: always mellow, always up for something, even if it's pasture mischief.

well I am glad to hear that I am not the only one who had aliens mess up my quiet dressage hands! Those little buggers will get theres someday! My trainer always says "If dressage was easy more people would do it". I share your pain!

Are you sure it's aliens and not just a conection come loose? I am sure my brain isn't attached to my body parts as they don't seem to do what my brain is telling them to do.

C2b: You may be onto something. Perhaps the aliens sever our connections!! I'm sure they are out there behind Mars in their little ship, watching & laughing at my dressage 'finesse'.
